Party on for drivers and celebs!

FORMULA 1 fever raged on long after the heart-pumping third instalment of the Singapore Grand Prix (GP) ended on Sunday night.

Drivers and celebrities were out in full force, intent on lapping up the glitzy parties surrounding the event.

The posh Amber Lounge at Millenia Walk, for example, was teeming with big names.

The exclusive venue – known to attract the famous and well-heeled – played host to ginger- haired actor Rupert Grint (who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films).

Grint, 22, tried to slip in unnoticed at 2am yesterday after dropping by Pan Pacific nightclub Stereolab, but obligingly stopped for photographs when asked.

On his way out around half an hour later, the affable, slightly awkward young actor told my paper that he thought the evening’s race had been “really, really good”.

“I am a bit into the whole F1 (scene),” he said, before signing autographs and posing for photos with fans.

The man of the hour – Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso, who beat Red Bull drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber to first place – was also in high spirits.

The 29-year-old Spaniard showed up at Amber Lounge with a group of friends at 2.15am, and partied on till the wee hours.

Among others spotted were Felipe Massa (Ferrari), Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) and his girlfriend Vivian Sibold, and Adrian Sutil (Force India), who gamely posed for photographers before being ushered inside.

Noticeably absent from the festivities, however, was Mc- Laren driver Lewis Hamilton and his superstar partner, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Hardly surprising, considering the 25-year-old’s on-track disaster earlier on, when a collision with Webber in the 36th lap resulted in a punctured tyre, forcing him to retire from the race.

The guy was reportedly in a foul mood but, by yesterday morning, Scherzinger, 32, seemed more upbeat.

She posted on Twitter: “Love… It is powerful thing. It’ll make ya do some stupid, crazy things…but for real love…you’ll go to the ends of the earth for…”

Whatever that means.

Fellow McLaren driver Jenson Button and his Japanese-Argentinian lingerie-model girlfriend Jessica Michibata, too, managed to stay under the radar on Sunday – a far cry from last year’s event, when my paper caught the dishy couple mid-smooch outside Amber Lounge.

Not everyone who turned up at the high-profile venue made it past security.

Several beefy members of all-male dance revue the Chippendales were spied joining the queue, only to be turned away minutes later. Looks like muscles can’t get you everywhere.

We can’t wait to see what next year’s GP parties have in store.
